Amina – the Muslim Women’s Resource Centre, aims to ensure that Muslim women are fully able to participate in society on an equitable basis.We engage with mainstream service providers and policy makers and run a range of faith and culturally sensitive services to benefit and develop (primarily) Muslim women across Scotland.

DIRECTOR

Salary range SJC pts 35 -39 (£27,714 -£31,035) for 37 hr week pro rata

Actual hours dependent on salary point

The successful applicant will have significant managerial experience, excellent organisational & communication skills, knowledge of the Muslim community & of systems in Scotland.

Main Functions

• Strategic advice to Management Committee on functioning and development of MWRC

• High level representation and networking to ensure Muslim women’s voices are heard

• Policy work – consultation responses, strategic networks, advisory panels etc

• Provide leadership, direction, supervision and guidance to staff

• Management of MWRC systems and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation

• Management of budgets and compliance with financial procedures

• Ensuring implementation and development of fundraising strategy

This post is funded by a Charitable Trust & Scottish Government initially until March 2011
