Achieving Better Rights and Services for Ethnic Minority Communities Living and Working in Fife

Community Group Grant    

PURPOSE

The aim of this grant scheme is to assist BME Community Groups to:

  • Build the capacity of their organisation.
  • Increase understanding of BME cultures and communities in Fife.
  • Promote cultural diversity.
  • Increase participation in decision making processes.

EXAMPLES OF HOW THE GRANT CAN BE USED

  • venue hire
  • transport (where this is an essential part of your group’s activities)
  • postage
  • stationery
  • essential equipment
  • marketing
  • networking
  • events, projects or networking which contribute to the above aims


CRITERIA

  • The applicant organisation must be properly constituted with an elected Management Committee.
  • At least 50% of the members of the group must be from BME communities.
  • The organisation should support the aims and objectives of FRAE Fife Race Equality Partnership.
  • Membership of the organisation must be open and the organisation should demonstrate that they are working to achieve equality of opportunity for all people in their community.
  • The application should demonstrate a clear link to at least one of the grant scheme aims listed above.
  • More than one application can normally be considered in any one financial year (1 April to 31 March) to a maximum total value of £500. Priority will be given to first time applications.
  • The community group must have a bank account (and financial statements must be provided with the application form).
  • FRAE Fife will take into account other sources of external funds sourced by the organisation when taking a decision on a level of award.
